**Alex Rivera Releases Debut Novel 'Echoes of the Forgotten'**
*Thriller examines memory loss in a dystopian society.*
NEW YORK -- Alex Rivera released "Echoes of the Forgotten" on Thursday, a debut novel published by Horizon Books.
The story centers on a woman uncovering erased personal histories amid government-mandated memory wipes.
Rivera drew from psychological research on amnesia for the plot.
The 320-page book arrives amid rising interest in speculative fiction, with pre-orders exceeding 15,000 copies through major retailers.
Horizon Books reports early reader feedback highlights the novel's tense pacing and ethical dilemmas.
"Writing this felt like piecing together my own fragmented past—it's a reminder that what we forget shapes us as much as what we remember," said Rivera, a former journalist.
"Echoes" is available in hardcover for $26.99, ebook for $14.99 and audiobook via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million and independent stores.
Rivera will appear at the New York Public Library on Oct. 17 and Literati Bookstore in Los Angeles on Oct. 24.
