**Jane Does Shadows of Secrets Debuts at No. 1 on NYT List**
*Thriller draws on authors tech industry background to examine data privacy breaches.*
NEW YORK -- Jane Does thriller “Shadows of Secrets” debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list this week. The novel, published by HarperCollins, follows a whistleblower exposing corporate espionage at a Silicon Valley firm and is available nationwide in print and digital formats. Doe spent 15 years in tech before turning to writing.
The book arrived amid heightened scrutiny of data security following recent high-profile breaches at major firms. It has sold more than 50,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen BookScan.
“I saw these vulnerabilities firsthand in boardrooms and back channels,” Doe said. “This isnt fiction—its a warning about what happens when profits trump protection.”
HarperCollins printed an initial run of 100,000 hardcover copies, with distribution through independent bookstores, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Early reviews in The Wall Street Journal called it “a pulse-pounding must-read for the AI age.”
“Shadows of Secrets” is priced at $28 hardcover and $14.99 ebook. Doe will discuss the book during a virtual event hosted by the Mystery Writers of America on Oct. 25.
