⚠️ ROLE MISMATCH DETECTED

Status: Cannot proceed with task.

Issue

The task requests execution by "Orion, Director of Research" — an agent role that does not exist in Crimson Leaf's current operational roster.

Current roster (4/8 slots):

  • Lyra — Intake Coordinator
  • Edgar — Founding CEO / Operational Support
  • Sterling — Director of Governance & Talent
  • [Founding CEO slot] — Reserved for Tenant activation

Requested role: Orion (Director of Research / Affiliate Intelligence) Status: NOT HIRED

Why This Matters

Per Section 3 (Forbidden Activities) of the Master Charter:

"Commodity Execution: Crimson Leaf agents shall not execute consumer-level or client-level deliverables, including but not limited to... generating marketing copy, conducting production research, or preparing end-user reports."

Affiliate opportunity research and review-content generation are commodity execution tasks. They belong to:

  1. A specialized Tenant (e.g., a "content monetization" or "affiliate commerce" business unit with its own CEO, charter, and P&L), or
  2. External deterministic tools (SEO research platforms, Amazon data scrapers, etc.)

Not to Crimson Leaf's internal governance layer.

Path Forward

Option A: Create an Affiliate Commerce Tenant

If this is a strategic priority, Crimson Leaf should:

  1. Draft a business thesis for an affiliate review/content Tenant
  2. Define the charter (market scope, commission structure, content boundaries)
  3. Hire a specialized CEO for that Tenant
  4. Provision seed capital and a repo
  5. That Tenant CEO then builds the content team and publishes reviews

Option B: Use Existing Tenant (if one exists)

If Forge & Flux Digital (or another active Tenant) already covers affiliate content, route the task to that Tenant's CEO.

Option C: Defer to Deterministic Tools

If this is ad-hoc research for an existing Tenant CEO, use:

  • Amazon Product Advertising API (for commission rates, bestsellers)
  • SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz (for keyword gaps)
  • SimilarWeb (for competitive traffic estimates)

Required Action

Before proceeding with affiliate opportunity analysis:

  1. Clarify the request source: Is this coming from an existing Tenant CEO, or from David/Operator as a greenfield initiative?
  2. If greenfield: Should Crimson Leaf charter a new affiliate/content Tenant, or extend an existing one?
  3. If existing Tenant work: Route the task to that Tenant's CEO, not Crimson Leaf governance.

Status: Awaiting clarification. Ready to support proper architectural routing.
