NEW YORK, NY -- Jane Harlan today released her debut novel "Echoes in the Dark," a psychological thriller published by Shadow Press that intertwines fiction with details from three real-life cold cases. The book hit shelves nationwide through major retailers and online platforms. Harlan, a former investigative journalist, spent four years researching the cases for authenticity.
The 320-page hardcover explores a detective haunted by a childhood witness account, mirroring Harlan's reporting on disappearances in the Midwest during the 1990s. Early reviews highlight its tense pacing and ethical dilemmas, with Kirkus Reviews calling it "a chilling reminder of memory's fragility."
