**Author Debuts Dystopian Novel on Climate Collapse**
*Shadows of Tomorrow examines societal breakdown amid escalating environmental crises.*
NEW YORK -- Jane Doe today released Shadows of Tomorrow, a dystopian novel depicting a near-future America fractured by climate disasters and resource wars. The book, published by Apex Books, launches nationwide through major retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble and independent bookstores. Doe, a former environmental engineer, drew from scientific reports to craft the narrative.
The 320-page hardcover explores survival in flooded coastal cities and inland refugee camps, blending thriller elements with policy critiques. It arrives amid record global temperatures and UN warnings on tipping points, positioning the story as timely commentary on inaction.
“Our generation inherited these warnings but built seawalls instead of solutions,” Doe said. “This book isnt prophecy—its the math weve ignored.”
Apex Books reports pre-orders exceeded 10,000 copies, with strong early reviews from Kirkus (“taut and unflinching”) and Library Journal. Distribution includes e-book and audiobook formats via Audible, and a paperback edition follows in spring 2025.
The novel is available now for $26.99 hardcover and $14.99 e-book. Doe appears at the Brooklyn Book Festival on Oct. 20 and a virtual panel with the Climate Fiction Writers Association on Nov. 5.
